General Ledger / P&L Accounting Supervisor

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company is seeking a hands-on General Ledger / P&L Accounting Supervisor to lead the month-end close process and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial statements. This role will supervise and develop staff accountants, oversee core GL activities, support audits, and partner with the government accounting team on cost allocations and shared-services inputs during a period of significant company growth.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring reporting is accurate and timely.
• Own general ledger integrity, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review income statements and balance sheets, including meaningful fluctuation and variance analysis.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff accountants; review work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and support compliance with US GAAP.
• Oversee accounting for fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany activity, and other general ledger areas.
• Partner with the government accounting team on cost allocations, shared services, and indirect rate inputs.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of schedules and responses to audit requests.
• Identify and implement process improvements, standardization, and automation opportunities across the close cycle.
• Help build scalable accounting processes and controls to support continued organizational growth.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience supervising, mentoring, or leading accounting staff.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Demonstrated ownership of month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Strong reconciliation, accrual, journal entry, and financial analysis skills.
• Proficiency with ERP general ledger systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, growth-oriented environment and drive process improvements.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• A combination of public accounting and industry accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or government contractor environment is preferred.
